When I was in the process of creating this work, I wanted to focus on a simulated reality. The two sources of reference were the movie “The Matrix” and fantasies that we all have in the head at any given time. One of those moments I imagine in the head of a lonely lady in a casino. There, luck and all the imagination of what could be is reflected in a look of rapture. I imagine the scene in a background full of textures and shapes randomly falling and merging with the image of the lady representing that other world that is in her mind.
Many of these ideas are rather questions in the air that I decided to share with the audience just as a thinking force for everyone to enjoy their interpretation of the works.
Above appears a detail of the face of the lady and then below you can see, from the sketch to the final painting in six of the process steps. I’d like to know what you think.

Step 1 – Initial sketch for Matrix Casino

Step 2 – Outlining the drawing on the canvas and initial underpainting

Step 3 -Creating textures with various materials

Step 4 – Detail of some textures achieved

Step 5 – The work is taking more definition

Step 6 – The finished work
